Due to WordPress’ 100% customizable and easy-to-use features, Etsy would be a good candidate to replicate using WordPress. Etsy’s website is structured by sections filled with galleries. As I was working on my portfolio, I noticed that there is an option to add multiple sections to a page, as well as a gallery. These options would be great tools to recreate the layout of their current page using WordPress. Etsy would need to download plug-ins to create more advanced features like checkout, customer log-in, and gift mode. Many plug-ins found on WordPress are free or marked at a low price.
The second website that would be a great candidate to be created in WordPress is Craigslist. Currently, Craigslist’s interface is lackluster and overwhelms users with information. I believe they would benefit from creating their website using WordPress. WordPress gives them the ability to easily add a navigation bar that specifies each category displayed on their home screen as well as a submenu to add all of their listing items. To help create a more enticing homepage, Craigslist can add a background image or an image at the top of their screen. If they wanted to keep the layout of their current homepage, they could add a few columns and add their content.
Discord is the third website that could be a great candidate to be created in WordPress. Discord’s interface is simple and broken into sections with huge, eye-catching images. They could easily recreate their website using WordPress by adding an image attached to their navigation. The rest of the homepage consists of individual sections. The section includes two columns, one for a picture and the other for their content. The animations that are used on their website could be recreated using plug-ins.
